A malicious version of the npm package @web3-util/common was published and distributed to users. The package contained malware capable of providing full system compromise to an attacker.\n\nAny computer that installed or ran this package should be considered fully compromised. The advisory recommends immediate rotation of all secrets and keys from a different, unaffected computer.\n\nWhile removing the package is necessary, there is no guarantee that removal will eliminate all malicious software that may have been installed as a result of the compromise.
