A malicious version of the npm package @my_name_is_khn/express-security-tool-v2 was published and distributed through the npm registry. The package contained malware capable of compromising the security of any system on which it was installed or executed.\n\nAccording to the GitHub Advisory (GHSA-v2gc-c6j4-6gq8), any computer with this package installed or running should be considered fully compromised. The malware may have granted outside entities full control of affected systems.\n\nImmediate remediation requires rotating all secrets and keys stored on affected computers from a different, uncompromised system. While the package should be removed, there is no guarantee that removal will eliminate all malicious software that may have been installed as a result of the initial compromise.\n\nUsers should assume complete system compromise and take appropriate incident response measures.
