A malicious npm package, @gocortexio/npmgremlinbox-malware-credential-harvesting, was identified and published to the npm registry. The package contains malware designed for credential harvesting.

Any computer that has installed or executed this package should be considered fully compromised. The malware may have granted outside entities full control of the affected system.

Immediate remediation requires rotating all secrets and keys from a different, uncompromised computer. While the package should be removed, there is no guarantee that removal will eliminate all malicious software that may have been installed as a result of the initial compromise.
