The eth-util npm package was found to contain malware. According to the GitHub Security Advisory (GHSA-fq6v-3gxv-7rjv), any system with this package installed or running should be treated as fully compromised.\n\nImmediate remediation requires rotating all secrets and keys stored on affected computers from a different, uncompromised system. While the package should be removed, there is no guarantee that removal will eliminate all malicious software that may have been installed as a result of the compromise, given the potential for full system control to have been granted to an external entity.\n\nUsers should assume complete loss of confidentiality and integrity on any system where eth-util was present."
