A critical malware incident was identified in the chai-sdk npm package. According to the GitHub advisory, any computer with this package installed or running should be considered fully compromised.\n\nThe advisory recommends immediate rotation of all secrets and keys stored on affected systems, performed from a different, uncompromised computer. While the package should be removed, the advisory notes that full control of the computer may have been given to an outside entity, meaning removal of the package alone may not eliminate all malicious software introduced by the installation.\n\nAffected users should treat their systems as potentially fully compromised and take appropriate incident response measures.
