EsqueleSquad published nearly 6000 malicious packages across PyPI and NPM ecosystems as part of this campaign. The malicious adram package was documented in the OpenSSF's malicious-packages repository (MAL-2023-2500).
The incident was identified and cataloged by security researchers, with details credited to the OpenSSF project. The malicious package has since been removed from PyPI.
