The npm package abina-amibn-aguhpabmi was identified as containing malicious code by Amazon Inspector and credited to OpenSSF's malicious-packages repository. The package includes autopublish scripts (auto.js, autopublish.js, autopublish2.js, autopublish3.js) that automatically execute upon installation.

The malicious payload modifies package.json to remove private flags and alter version numbers, then generates random package names (primarily Indonesian-themed variants, with some English variants) and continuously republishes them to the npm registry. This activity is designed to artificially inflate developer reputation scores within the tea protocol token reward campaign.

This package is part of a larger coordinated campaign that flooded npm with similar malicious packages following the same pattern. The attack vector involves publishing compromised packages directly to the public npm registry, where they can be installed by unsuspecting developers.
